Black and Brown Parents Lead The Digital Revolution | How?- Read!!
We often hear about all the ways in which Black & Brown communities are lacking, thanks to the stories we’ve been sold.
“Deficit data” is currently driving all solutions in education…and while there is truth to most data, we can cause a lil’ good disruption by moving from problem-driven solutions to more future-forward opportunities.
Here’s a fun fact for you: Black and Brown parents and families are actually adopting AI (and tech) at a faster rate than others.
In my recent interview with The Economist, I got to elevate what it looks like when Black and Brown parents lead the digital revolution.
So you know what that means, right?
It means we need more training and development programs in local communities so they can learn to leverage this technology and use it in ways to empower themselves.
Imagine that. We can close our own gaps instead of relying on all of the resources to come from others. Talk about #DisruptingForGood!
When I visited the White House last year to help build solutions with the US Department of Education staff, a chief topic of conversation was finding more partnership with parents, especially in the midst of the current culture wars that are plaguing our society today.
It’s within our reach.
The government is listening…so what do you have to say??
As for me, I’m bringing The New ABCs to the table.
A — AI Access & Empowerment
B — Bridging generational gaps
C — Connecting with students and communities
Challenging our beliefs around how to educate our local communities is groundbreaking work that creates real, measurable impact. If this sounds like the type of work you want to get involved with, let’s connect!
It’s must-do work, and I’d love to show you how to get your organization involved. Click here to grab a spot on my calendar, and let’s talk Good Disruption!
